A little prep goes a long way. Follow these four simple steps before your Rock Water & Co technician arrives and we'll have your new system up and running as fast as possible.
Most of these take less than 10 minutes. Doing them the evening before your appointment is ideal.
Remove all cleaning supplies, trash cans, and any clutter stored under your kitchen sink. Your installer needs full, unobstructed access to the cabinet to connect your new system.
If your installation includes a water softener, clear a 3×3 ft area near your water heater or main water line. The softener unit needs room to sit and be connected to your plumbing.
Reverse osmosis systems sometimes require a power source for the pump. Before your appointment, check whether there is an accessible electrical outlet under the sink or within reach of the install area.
Your installer will need to shut off your home's water supply briefly during the installation. Plan ahead so your household is prepared — this typically lasts 30–60 minutes.
Run through this list the morning of your appointment.
Here's a general timeline so you know exactly what to expect from start to finish.
We'll confirm the scope of work, walk through your home's water situation, and answer any last-minute questions before starting.
Your technician inspects the install locations, checks plumbing connections, and confirms the system placement before any work begins.
We'll shut off your water supply and begin the installation. This is the main work phase — most installs take 1–3 hours total depending on system type.
Once installed, we run the system, check for leaks, and test your water to confirm everything is working perfectly before we leave.
We'll walk you through how your new system works, what maintenance it needs, and answer any questions. You'll have clean, filtered water from day one.
An adult (18 or older) must be present for the entire installation appointment. This is required to authorize work, answer questions, and receive the system walkthrough at the end. If you need to reschedule, please call us at least 24 hours in advance.
Our team is happy to walk you through anything before your appointment day. Give us a call — we're available Monday through Saturday, 7am–7pm.
